Is Belly Dancing Good For Weight Loss?


In physical exercise, aerobic exercise literally means "with oxygen", and
refers to the use of oxygen in muscles' energy-generating process. Aerobic
exercise, which is also referred to as Cardio, includes any type of exercise,
typically those performed at moderate levels of intensity for extended
periods of time, that maintain an increased heart rate. In such exercise,
oxygen is used to "burn" fats and glucose.


“But why do people think they have to get on a treadmill or bike at the gym
to do their Cardio?” says Rafael Moret,CSCS, President of South Florida

treadmill or riding the bike at the gym is boring, and you don’t want that”.
People should only do their cardio indoors once per week, if that... the rest of the

In This class Nathalie will focus on refining technique (layering, traveling, turns, elements of ballet to improve posture in belly dance. etc.), working on stage presence and improvisation. The class will also include presentation of Middle Eastern rhythms to help students with improvisation and the understanding of finger cymbals.
Students who have taken Beginning Belly Dance 1 and 2 can move to an Intermediate level class. Students who studied with other instructors and have mastered the basics can enroll in this class. (Finger Cymbals and Veil required)



Get ready to dance! You will continue to perfect your fundamental skills while learning new steps and combinations. The focus of this class will rotate each session between Middle Eastern Rhythms and Zills, Layering, Combinations, Musical Interpretation and Choreography. We will also be incorporating elements of ballet to improve your posture in bellydance.

This class will introduce the fundamental of Belly dance. You will be exploring such movements as the figure 8, hip circles, ribcage circles, hip bumps, lifts, twists and shimmies! Nathalie will break down the movements that are the foundation of all styles of belly dance. You will learn proper dance posture, traveling steps, turns, graceful arm movements, and veil work.
